heh, both those stories are funny, when i had my bonneville, i was going home from work one day and i guess i had forgot to turn the reserve back to full, and i ran out,, went to put on reserve and just thought,, oh*****, i'm walking. well, not 2 minutes after i started walking a guy on an old harley pulled up next to me, i mean, this guy was twice as scary lookin as r100, tattoo's everywhere, full beard, long hair, ripped jeans, LOUD harley,, he pulled up in front of me, i thought he was gonna kick my ass or call me an idiot or something, but he asked me what was wrong, i just said "i'm an idiot and left the reserve on" he was laughing at me and i thought he was just making fun of me, then he goes " man, i've been riding for 30 years and i still do that*****" then out from his panniers he pulls out a rubbermaid pint bottle filled with gas. filled me up enough to get to the gas station. i was really taken aback. he even complimented my tattoo's and said "yeah,, triumph has done a really good job with these bonny blacks, that's really an elegant bike" i tried to buy him beer or dinner, he wouldn't have it,, just rode off. really cool guy,, ever since then i've tried to not judge a harley rider before i know them. ,on the speedy though i usually see my light at around 75 miles and make sure to fill before 100.
