So, after I removed the stock Mickey Mouse mirrors and installed my super sweet CRG Mirrors, I had those empty holes to fill.

I looked everywhere for a black socket head or hex head bolt and never found one in the proper size. I went to Lowes and got some stainless hex bolts that looked okay.

Cheap and the boys here referred me to the guy on Ebay that sells the "Fat Bolts" in black for a very nice price of only $5.00, considering Pro-Bolts makes a set for $20.

However, since I am all about the details.......I came up with this:

The bolts are from NewSpeed3, but he sells them for the Triumph Bonneville, for the Air Injection Removal Kit. At $25.00, they are a bit pricy, but hey.......I knew they would look sweet with the Union Jack Flag etched into the top of the bolt.

Unfortunately, they are the wrong size......12 X 1.25, so I took them to the local machine shop and had them re-thread them down to 10 X 1.25. The original length works just fine.

I sent an email to the boys at NewSpeed3 with this pic also.....I am sure if he gets enough interest, he can get these made up for you.

JOHN

So...for somewhat improved looks that most won't notice you paid probably close to $50 for two screws?

Thanks. I really appreciate your comment.

So what if I did spend $50?

Show me one aftermarket part that isn't way overpriced.

If NewSpeed3 makes them and sells them for $20, that's more reasonable, right???

Besides, I didn't do it for you or for anyone else to notice. I did it for myself.

I just thought I would share the idea. :moon:

They look totally cool. If you have the $$$ and you have some left over, why not spend it. Isn't that what it's for?

I picked up some rear peg bolts, they are the right size, about $4 from dealer.

Im hip John. Who really gives a sheeet how much somebody lays out for stuff THEY want?! I bought some quatrovalve emblems from Ferrari one time for a whole lot of bread and then stuck them on the side panels of my 4 valve ninja 600 20 years ago. Looked cool to me.

Once, only once during all these years, a car guy looked at the bike at a gas station, saw them and gave me a thumbs up and commented how cool they were.
