Well guys..... first let me say it.... I am not a Speed Triple Owner. But dont go handing out rocks just yet! This bike is at the top of my list! Im planning on picking up something (either a 06 or 07) after the first of the year for weekend riding and otherwise just cruising around town.

My issue is that I'm 6'3" 250 lbs..... so I have some longer legs.
they BARELY fit in the cutouts of the tank. So what im looking for is some bracketry that will move the footpegs down and back about 3/4" to 1". Then I'd be sitting pretty! Are there any companies making the accesories im looking for???

As much as I like how a bike looks and performs.... comfort while riding takes president. Whats the point in riding if it isnt pleasurable :-D

Also, I've never been much into the street bike world and all my dirt bikes I buy a year old from private sellers. Any advise you might give me in negotiating price or adding accesories? (I would really wanna get a belly pan and small screen if I get the Speed Triple)

Thanks for your time guys! With any luck I'll get the p;easure of joining the triumph community soon! :-D

If ya wanna buy advice, I'm the guy yer look'n fer! :-D For one, I'm not so sure that you'd wanna move them pegs down, that's prolly ask'n fer some serious peg grindage, especially from a 250 lb guy! :-D So I reckon you just need to git used to her, and once ya do, she won't be that bad, just ask our residential giant, Legman. Now that'll be about $100 fer that nice piece of advice! :-D

6'4" over here and no problems for almost two years.

Don't actually remember if my legs fit the cutouts or not. I am pretty sure the answer is yes, as the paint is always well scratched up by my leathers.

I'm 6'5" and my legs are fine. You need to actually ride the bike around instead of sit on it at the floor before you make any decisions like this.

One of the reasons I got the S3 was because it seems built for taller riders.

I gotta agree with Martin_R and Odium. This bike is comfortable for the larger gentleman. In fact it is the most comfortable bike I have owned for years. As Odium says make your judgement after a test ride.

If you still want to change the pegs there are several options for rear set peg assemblies. Two that I can think of are from Rizoma and LSL. Email or PM Geof3, I think he has the LSL rearsets

Hi Drunktank,

I can't speak of the LSL Rearsets, but I do have the Rizoma's and they will put your foot farther back then you would probably like.

Even on their lowest and most forward position, they are further back then the stock pegs.

Like the others have said though, you really need to ride the bike. A quick fit in the dealership might seem a little uncomfy at first, especially if you are coming from a bike with further forward and/or lower pegs, but I am sure that after a little while it will seem much more "normal".

BTW, I am just over 6' if you care...

Hi drunky, personally I'm a short arze, however...

Protech make a good looking adjustable peg called a "Move peg"
It only moves the peg so, if your feet are big enough to reach the levers, you could just move the peg back.

You will find it at www.frozzie.com [sorry I cant link it]

Their web page isn't the best, but they have some nice gear.
