i rolled over the 30,000 mile mark last month. due to snow and rain riding is almost done here in ohio. time to clean shine and modify over the winter.

I think Miker from OZ has over 100k kilometers, which would put him around the mid 60k mile range.

Not quite 100,000kms, but close, 96,435 as of this morning. 96435 Kilometers = 59924.70900 Miles.

It's just been in for a service and my guy said that if I had have taped over the odometer and he rode it he would have suspected about 40,000km! That was before the service.

I have seen a 98 Tiger used for courier work with 240,000km, and it needed a head refresh, but was fine in the bottom end.

Just goes to show you that if you keep the oil changed and the tune (plugs, filters) etc on time and don't hooligan "too much" :razz: it will run for many a day without a problem.

it is pretty amazing that a motorcycle engine can last this long. it is really good engineering.

too bad some car and truck engines can't last that long. :-D

Dunno Cheap, you'll have to figure it out, but I tend to ride conservatively most of the time, well, below 8,000 rpm anyways :wink:

They only don't last because they're not looked after. I have a 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 210,000kms 210000 (130494 Miles) and the engine is just starting to get a bit noisy in the valve train. Still pulls like a mule and burns less than a pint of oil every 5,000km.

Nothing wrong with being fastidious with services if you intend to keep whatever machinery you have. Mr Speed is a keeper, so I expect I'll get to 200,000km some day and let you know how it fares.
