I don't know, but I would guess you'll be money ahead to buy a used engine on ebay or something like that. Even if you did have the dealer install it.

What happened? You were all happy one day, and freaking out the next. I think legally you should be able to get your money back. I would discuss this with an attorney. Unless you fooked it up yourself. D'OH! :hammer:

I had the same question. Not because my motor's f#cked but because it has 36k miles on it. Preemtive sorta thing, you know.

The old t300 engines would go for ages, 100k + in many cases - probably because of the jacket about liner affair - I believe the later engines are similar and should be good for 100k themselves - what's the highest mileage 955 engine here I wonder!?

+1
I've met stunt rider guys who buy bikes with salvage titles and use them as parts. Even though they buy bikes with bent frames and thrashed fairings the motors and transmisions are still good.

I was very happy with the bike but I can't really ride it now. This knock from inside the engine just got progressively worse which may have been a timing issue that lead to other problems. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do about it the nearest dealership is about 2 hours away so I guess I'm gonna trailer it there for now and see what is up. I only have $2500 in this bike as of now so I figure I can justify spending a litte (yeah right) money on the engine to get it right. :brk:
