alright! :upthumb:
so i polished and put my chain reaction velocity® mid-pipe and exhaust system on yesterday, and went for a quick test ride up to haight st. to grab a guiness and an album.

first off, installation was simple, and i had it all going under an hour.
sue's like "start her up!"

i start the bike, and WOW a noticeable increase in sound! NOW the triple sounds like a performance bike. to be honest i had always thought the stock cans were a bit too quiet for a performance machine, so this system really synergies into the bike perfectly!

it has a VERY nice brauup souund when you blip the throttle. bob kept telling me wait till you hit 7000 - 10,000 rpm's to really hear it sing, but to be honest, i love the new sound in all revs. even at the bottom.

performance wise, you can DEF' tell you have opened up the gates., it feels a lot more 'open'.

when i got up to haight st. turning onto haight from stanyon, i hear this guy (yelling) at his friend: "check that f*cking bike out!" - i never get reactions like that on my bike, and i'm ALWAYS on haight st. (read public places with lots of people), it makes the bike seem like its a whole different beast from an entire package point of view.

yes it IS louder and people notice, period. NOTE: i do not have the baffles installed, nor do i have any plans to. i like the added volume as i'm not audibly invisible anymore.
(so eat that harvey davis riders) when i came out of the bar there were 4 people standing around the bike checking it out. -- the starry eye'd guys with their blank-look-on-the-face girlfriends) the pipes just look sick on this bike!!!!

i'm going to go for a small performance run today after the fog clears along the coast and get some revs going.

the package is a perfect fit for this hooligan. i also have the stock map on, and the pops are stellar! NOTE #2: not for the conservative types. (daring to say conservatives don't ride S3's as well) :nana:

thanks bob!
-b

Unless you have $850 to spare, don't look at any pics, don't listen to a sound file, and NEVER ride one with them fitted. Ask CB.

Are you planning to keep running the stock tune?

Just curious. Is it bad for the bike?

Oh, and congrats!

bob is working on a custom map for the pipe(s) so at some point i will switch over maps.
until development and testing is done, i'll just hang tight to the stock map.
--- as for knowing if it's bad for the bike? i wouldn't think so. since the bike has a 'brain' that monitors and sets what it needs.

Wrong, it only does that at small throttle openings and during steady speeds. The rest of the time it depends on yer ECU map.

You'd probably be better off sticking in a TOR tune for now and Wayne's masterpiece when you get a tuneboy.
