I think Dumbass A and Dumbass B must have a lot of Swiss relatives living in the Zurich area..
Can't tell you how many times I've been driving down the street (at the posted speed limit), seen a couple of people walking down the sidewalk with traffic to their back and then in mid-stride swing leg left to the left in an attempt to cross without a thought of looking first over their shoulder to see if anything might be approaching. Maybe you could get away with it sometimes in a small town but not in a bustling city..!!

I am glad such fine citizens exist (no need to say which ones were the fine citizens).

That's awesome. I love his "lightning fast reflexes." At the shopping center near my house I have had so many people just walk into the street without looking. One of these days someone is going to get "ran the F over"

Around these parts you best be careful about such situations. Pedestrians have the right-of-way No matter what! Always.

Sometimes the local police/sheriff set up sting operations focusing on this. A volunteer officer (in plain clothing) will walk out in front of traffic. If you don't stop for said pedestrian a hidden patrol car will pull you over and give you a ticket!

True fact. I've seen it happen.

A coworker and I were driving in two separate vehicles when what looked like a dumbtwat talking on his cell phone walked right out in front of my associate. He swerved around the guy and continued down the road. I stopped and let the cell phone lunatic cross the road. The other driver received a ticket for this. It turned out it was an undercover officer.

Have a nice day! :hammer:

That was a really funny and well penned letter.

The same goes in Australia though. Pedestrians have right of way, regardless. It's a pity though, because they know this, which is why they do things like Dumbass A and Dumbass B.

If jay walking was a crime here, then the fines would enable taxes to be done away with!
