Does anyone know much about staintune? I see they have pipes for the new S3 but they say you don't need any chip, remap, etc and they claim 9 more horses. Is this possible. Bolt and go? Hmmmmmmmmmm...... :-|

I got the Staintunes. I got about 7 hp increase, but I run the TOR tune. I had it on the dyno and it was too lean with the standard tune. But don't let that put you off, it only takes 10 minutes for your dealer to load the TOR tune.

BTW they sound awesome.

It will give you a nice increase in power, but without the TORS tune, I had serious popping on decel.

Hey Thanks for the replies,

It was my thought that you would have to modify the tune somewhat because I don't see how you can change the flow enough for the power gains without changing some fuel and spark parameters. Would you guys reccomend the Stains over the TORS?

Kneebone,
The stock tunes are lean in the midrange, but a touch rich on the top end. So a better flowing exhaust can make more peak power, but makes the midrange even leaner.

+1
And I also get many compliments on the looks. Thanks to Geof3 for selling them to me.

I agree,
the stock tune is definatley lean in the mid range and you sure don't need a dyno to see that. The stain tunes sound like a good way to go with the TOR map but they sure are expensive. I will have to save for a while or knock off a bank or two.. :lollol:

They are actually reasonably priced when you compare them to other half systems on the market.
