This may already be answered in the forum, but I'm not seeing it...
My front brake lever compresses too far like many of your's. I however, sort of choke up on the lever (always have) with my index finger up around the circular adjuster and my second finger about an inch from the beginning of the lever and doing most of the work. With this technique, I feel the lever coming in too far, but, it doesn't keep me from getting all the braking I'm needing before getting close to bottoming out (even at the track).
My question is: Are the cool brake levers I've seen (Pazzo??)mentioned here shaped to give you even more distance than the stock levers before bottoming out?? And if so, will this not alleviate most of our gripes.
As an aside, I'm not trying to diminish anyone's gripe with Triumph over this issue. I too am appalled at their lack of concern.
I've seen several mentions here lately of owners saying "I'll never buy another Triumph, etc. etc.".
To TRIUMPH: I hope you are listening to these comments. You cannot let this go on. Triumph is not another jap bike. We, your constituency, are paying up for British "exclusivity", not British quirkiness.
Bad engines piiss you off, but bad brakes will get you killed. Dont play with our health like we're a bunch of statistics. Continue this lack of concern and sooner or later, somebody's gonna take your little motor company and your jobs away from you. Do the RIGHT thing. That simple act will do more for you via all of us talking you up than anything your marketing department will ever come up with during the next 20 years. Word of mouth. Use before it gets used against you.
