in the middle of test driving sport tourers , and guess who doesnt get a shot at my money?
The wife wants to be able to take trips two up , so i am purchasing a bike this month to accomodate her on some longer trips . i am looking at the honda st and the kawasaki concourse , also might give the beemer
a shot , though that will stretch the wallet .
triumph while having a nice tourer in the sprint , TRIUMPH WILL NOT
see another dollar from my wallet till they change their ways . I will not
reccomend anyone buy anything from them and i am activley pursue legal remediation over their brake issue .
i am glad i dont have to take my chevy in every two weeks to get the calpiers pushe dback inn!!

The Honda ST is very nice. I drove a friend's recently and was impressed by how comfortable it is for long rides. He had complained about it being too harsh after his first 200 mile ride. I said "Get on my bike (S3) for 50 miles and tell me which one you want to ride the rest of the way home." We switched after 50 and were both happier. He rides very cautiously and slow. I don't. Still, I can understand the attraction to the Honda, but I want a white Tiger.

Have a go on one of those 650 scooter things, like sitting in an armchair, great wind protection and i have been told they are quick.

Kawasaki 1400 Concours - there's not even any question.

If you want as much sport tourer as possible on the lowest dollar outlay, try a used Kaw Concours. Those things are really good in so many ways. Comfortable for two up. Got the bags already. Dead reliable. Shafty. Good weather protection, big tank. Large aftermarket. And...when you really want to, you can ride that thing fast enough to embarrass squids on GSXRs etc on Skyline Blvd south of San Francisco. I know, cuz I've done it. That bike has a lot of soul. It must rank up there with the Mad Max (Yamaha) as the least altered chassis since its introduction in 1986.
I know you're peesed off at Triumph, but that new Tiger looks cool. They probably got good brakes, not that they need em. I once rode my Concours from Amarillo TX to Flagstaff AZ and only use the brakes to stop for petrol and grease & dough. The brakes did come in handy along PCHwy though.

Dang, I am with CB again! The new kawasaki ZX14 based concours would have to be at the top of my list if I were in your shoes and wallet.
