Just paid for a barely used 2005-2006 CBR600RR can and heat shield off of ebay. Ended up costing me $36 plus $20 shipping. I plan on undertaking the project of mounting it as an undertail on my 2001. I'm gonna wait a while after I get it though and make sure it's going to be possible to mount, and plan everything out before I start hacking up the back. But after digging up Kuhlka's thread his CBR1000RR exhaust, and pictures Hinckley posted on another mount, I'm fairly confident it can be done.

Wish me luck. I'll be sure to take pics at every step of the way if I decide to do it and write everything up.

EDIT: Here are links to the old threads with Kuhlka's writeup and the picutres Hinckley posted if anyone is interested.

Haha,
Thanks guys. I'm hoping a collective will from the message board will karma that thing on there easily. I'm just worried about all the cutting I'm going to have to do. I figure if I do everything carefully and take my time it will work out tho. If it works out, you can't beat a whole new exhaust system for $100-150, especially undertail.
