My bike is a 06 has 6000 miles and the pads are near the end of there useful life. I have not had the problem with extended lever travel but I find they lack feel and 'bite' and this has got progressively worse as the pads have worn.
Two questions

1. are there any alternatives pads that fit the original set up.

2. will using non OE pads warp my disks.

Many thanks in anticipation.

There are several pads available that work better than stock - EBC and Carbone Lorraine come to mind.

The big issue on replacing pads (and warping issues) is letting the calipers recenter correctly. Once the calipers are reinstalled, leave the caliper bolts slightly loose. Squeeze the brake lever and let the calipers center themselves. Then tighten the caliper bolts to spec with the brake lever squeezed.

I hope this helps.
