That is probably where they are getting the additional 3bhp from. (131bhp for the 2007 model)

I wonder if the '06 is upgradeable?

I saw the 05-06 ecu for $1500 somewhere. Not a cheap upgrade exactly.

The heat shield is a piece of sheetmetal and propably can be done easily.

Paint is sold everywhere.

I would doubt the ECU is physically different, probably just a programing change. Should be downloadable.

would be nice to have quicker start'n and better fuel economy, but as I've said before, the little quirks don't really bother me, kinda gives ol' speedy character. I love my bike! :-D

That would be nice I could really use more power.

Well, I was wrong on that prediction. According to Cycle World the 2nd gen Keihin CPU has double the memory which allows them to have more maps (finer increments I assume) and more complex control stratagies. So we definately won't be able to just download the new code. Remains to be seen if it is possible to swap but probably cost prohibitive.

I think there is a good chance they will use the 675 calipers or a larger master cylinder without promoting it since they don't want to admit there is a problem with the previous years.
