Has anybody put in aftermarket bulbs like Silverstars or PIAA Xtreme or Plasma series? I have a pair of some type of hyperwhites on my SE-R V that were recommended on a forum, and they are definitely whiter but I don't find that visability is improved.

I'd like to get a more crisp look from my headlights but not at the expense of visability which as of right now kicks @$$ (love the highbeams).
Anybody have any feedback on bulb swaps?

I have Silverstars. They are much brighter (day and night) and improve night visibility greatly. You may need to adjust your headlight buckets for best visibility.

I really like the PIAAs. I forget the specific model, but the high and low beams are different colors. My impression is that visibility is improved, but justifying the high price tag is up to you. I just wish PIAA made headlight lamps to replace the stock (which I already have done, but no doubt PIAA would make great ones).

Goffe,
The PIAA Super Plasma GT-X have a purple tinted low beam and a white high beam. Are these the ones you are talking about? I can't find a price for them, but they are the ones I was thinking about getting. Anybody else have any info?

Do a search for Raybrig Whitesonic bulbs. I have a pair and they are better than the PIAA's I had before, with a Very white light. I also upgraded the lenses with a pair of Hella 71456 models from Mesa Performance Parts, which look cool as well as give a better pattern.

I run PIAA's, one is the regular clear/white and the other is bright yellow. Nothing like mismatched eyeballs to freak out oncoming traffic.

I may copy this idea... I hadn't even thought about doing this until you mentioned it.

Do you have a pic of your lenses on the bike Speed3?

I noticed Kuryakyn has a bunch of options on bulbs -

(one more on previous page also)

Kuryakyn also makes a 5-3/4 HID conversion available at JPCycle - not sure if that will fit our shell - not cheap option at > $750 for the pair anyway!
