service manual:
Oil Capacity (dry fill) . . . 3.50 litres
Oil Capacity (wet fill including filter) . . . 3.20 litres
Oil Capacity (wet fill excluding filter) . . . 3.00 litres

i know what the service manual says but want to know the "actuals" for how much oil is required for a drain and fill with filter change? sometimes the actuals differ. i'm sure this has been asked b4 so i apologize for my inability to find it.

I used very close to 3.5 bottles of Mobil 4T. I don't have the bottle here to confirm, but I'm guessing they were litres?

That was for an oil and filter change.

On my first bike I used 3 quarts 12 oz which is exactly what the manual says it takes for a oil & filter change. On the second bike I used closer to 3 quarts 16 oz but it may be just a skosh overfilled. US liquid measure.

In liters that would be: 3.18 & 3.31

I fill the filter and use right at 3.0L in the sump.
The short and long filters use different amounts of oil, by filling the filter first the oiling system does not have to fill the filter (while the engine runs dry), and I always add the same amount of oil to the sump with any filter.
