Has anybody ever used this touring screen sold through jacklilley on their 97 - 01 S3. Is it more effective than the normal flyscreen? We all love our nakeds, but I am desiring just a bit more protection now that fall is in the air.

I have one but it is definitely only put on in times of great need (big miles)

Deflection is excellent, much improved over the standard flyscreen (the one with the bulge) and the Road Racing Manx/Skyking fairing - but it looks horrible (there's no way to disguise it, although they seem to have done a good job of making it look decent in the Jack Lilley photo. The reality is somewhat different !)

I have only used mine twice - both times on three day trips when I knew I was going to be doing 300+ miles per day. I will use it again, but only on a similar basis. For everyday use the original flyscreen stays on there

Thanks Andylav, I was beginning to think they had never sold one! From what you say, I bet they had to turn the bike several directions to get a decent shot that wouldn't scare everybody away.

I know what you mean.

Height and profile aren't the problem, it's the sheer width of the thing that makes it hard to look at, as well as the very agricultural brackets that are used to mount it to the forklegs.

I'm looking at ways of chopping and trimming it a little and fitting it off the headlight mounts to try and improve the aesthetics, while still gaining from the increased protection and practicality it offers for bigger distances.

May look at colour coding it as well, as a final effort to tie it in to the rest of the bike.

In summary - Works good. Looks ? Not so much !
