On US-market bikes, there is a (plugged) slot in the left-side handgrip switch housing. I'm guessing the plugged slot is there to accomodate a headlight switch in markets that allow switched headlights. Can anyone confirm this?

I'm thinking if that if one could get the switch for that slot, one could use it as a switch for heated grips. It could be a very clean installation!

Does anyone know of a switch that fits that slot?

Although it would be an "on/off" switch and heated grips are usually 3-way. High, Low & Off.

I could live with a simple two-way switch in exchange for such a clean and easy installation. I've had heated grips on several past bikes and I tend to use them on high or not at all anyway.

That's riight. In some markets it holds the headlight on/off/park switch. But you would have to run the wires yourself because there are no wires in the loom that are run in there for you.

Thanks. It's a shame there are no wires in there, but it would still be nice to have the location for the switch, and a nicely integrated switch.

Now, in what countries can I buy that switch?

By chance did you check with your parts counter at the local Triumph shop? Maybe they can get it.

Since US laws require that the headlights be on all the time, I've presumed US dealers don't carry the switch, but maybe I've been too presumptuous. Thanks, I'll check and report back on this thread.

On German eBay there is a TT600 switchgear, but you would have to rewire all the wires as the connecting part is too short.

If I remember correctly one of the guys on the forum in the past looked into the switch with his dealer and said that it was a rediculously high price. He didn't give specifics on the price. But you never know, he coud just be a cheaper bastard than Cheap Bastard.
