Who makes good heated grips for the S3? I have been looking for them and can't find anything for some reason.

If you do an Advanced Search on heated grips in the Speed Triple forum, you'll find several good threads.

Triumph make them but they are expensive.
Instead I opted for heat pads last year. Cost me $55aus ($41.00 US) and took a day to install. They work really well. You get a toggle switch for HI - Lo & off. I installed the toggle above my above my binnacle on the backing plate that comes with the fly screen. I have to turn them off regularly as they get too hot.

The only complaint is that the left side does not heat up as much or as quickly as the right side. The reason for this is the right side you fix the pad to the twist grip which is plastic and the left side is the metal bar. I've improved this a little by first putting a a shrink tube on the bar heat shrinking it for a tight fit and then putting the pad over the shrink tube.

Yes Triumph do make them BUT they don't fit....... I had my bike at my local Triumph dealer booked in to get the Triumph heated grips put on and they couldn't get them to fit. So we did some home work and the Oxfords fit perfect. So I've been riding around with toasty warm hands that did't cost me a fortune.

>>Do you really feel confident purchasing a heated grip electrical system from somebody that spells resistor "resister"?

First, why was the above post of mine deleted?

Second, whoever deleted the post should have common courtesy and let me know why and when this happened.

All I got was a PM with a smiley face from Saprti, but I have no idea if he deleted it or what happened...

For you guys that have installed the type of grip heaters that fit under the rubber grips - like the Dual Stars.... how do they fit under the standard rubber grips?

The heater material must be really thin ??

Did you have any difficulty installing the grips on top of the heater element ?

thanks,

Rich
