I know this isn't the tiger forum but what do you S3 owners think about the 07 Tiger?

I like it

Looks a bit like the offspring of a menage-a-trois between a Speed Triple, an FZ1 and a V-Strom :-D

Like a Daytona mated with a Tuono. The front end looks like an ant.

I'd have to see it in three dimensions to make up my mind (a lot of bikes look much better in person), but I'm just not crazy about the whole V-strom/Multistrada/New Tiger thing.

It's my understanding that most Tiger owners wanted a more street-friendly mount, so I guess this approach makes sense. But to me, it's just a big, tall, heavy streetbike with longer suspension.

It's like most SUVs - based on a car chassis, but styled to look big and tough and capable when really... it's just a car. It looks like it _could_ go off-road, but it would not be advisable to try.

Triumph has ceded the true dual-sport market to the Kawasaki KLR and BMWs GS series.

Hmm... On the plus side:

• THAT motor
• Looks like the fairing would do a good job of deflecting the wind (even if it does look like an ant).
• Handling. Just a guess, but with what looks like Daytona bits, it's gonna be good

On the minus side:
• less capable off-road
• Touring capacity cut on accounta no place to put saddlebags any more

In the end, I'd just ask "why?" You want the motor? Buy a S3 or a Sprint. I don't see any advantage to the new design other than, well, it looks tough. Just like an SUV.

Hmm... wonder if those'll retrofit to the S3?

The second pic looks like a slightly more naked Sprint, which is just a head-scratcher to me. I mean, it's not bad and all, but does Triumph need a sport-touring semi-supermoto? Moreso than it needs an adventure bike, I guess.

I'm not knockin' it - just would rather have seen 'em go in more of a GS direction than a Multistrada direction.

(Those Multistradas, btw, are just plain fugly.)

The beauty of the tiger is that if you live where rough pavement exists, then its a better bike than a sprint or speed triple. The longer suspension is much better for street riding around my parts.

I think it's a pretty nice looking bike, wouldnt mind buying one of those.

I like it! It's all about choices. I hope that some day Triumph creates a Dual Purpose version with the 675 powerplant. Very light and powerful.

The exhaust is horrid. They should have used the Sprint's undertail exhaust or something similar. The cans are huge and look retarded. The rest looks alright. I just hope it is actually an upgrade over the previous topheavy models.

I bet they are going for long distance touring like the Multistrada. Imagine a S3 with a small fairing, a more comfortable seat and taller bars. Did somebody say Iron Butt?

I agree the pipe is kind of large but I am sure there will be plenty of aftermarket goodies for it.

I don't mind the exhaust.

But yeah, the tiger is like a muilticylinder supermoto. Very muiltistradaish. But except, its reliable

That bike looks like it can handle pretty well in the twisties.
