to start with you will need a set of calipers and M/C off a 05-06 GSXR1000....
i just finished doing this mod.......its the best thing i have done for this bike......for those of you who are good with your hands there is a solution to using washers or spacers with the stock gsxr bolts........all you have to so is open up the holes in the gsxr calipers to the same diameter as the holes in the stock speed triple calipers and then you can use the better looking triumph bolts...( i used to be a machinist in another life)...the calipers are made out of a cast aluminum (i think) they were very soft......for those of you that cant do this you will need to use the GSXR bolts with a spacer or washer......i opened up the holes and used the stock triumph bolts and washers ....took the stock gsxr brake fluid resivor mount and machined and rebent it .....then i used the stock triumph part of the clamp to hold the gsxr m/c to the bar so i could use the old mirrior mounting hole to hold my new bracket for the brake fluid resivor.... then had galfer make me some lines.......i have taken some pics and post them as soon as i get a min....but if you would like i could email them to you..

and now my speedy feels like it should of felt from day one......just like a real race bike :-D

yeah, what blkspd said, What are the specs on the brake lines?

Triumph is ordering me a new set of calipers, to try and fix the brakeing issue. They already replaced seals and my master cylinder and my lever hits the bars in settings 2-4.

I have GSXR calipers and a master cylinder to go on if triumph cant fix it (I doubt the new Nissin calipers will help any)

I just need to figure out how to route the lines, and how long they should be for the GSXR stuff.

Cant wait to see pics!

Thanks
Jay

I did my caliper change and the OEM Speed trip bolts went thru the GSXR caliper with no problems.
I used black stainless braided lines that I got from the local Harley dealer with 3/8 female fittings on the end and banjos to match.
I used a 28 inch line from the M/C to the RH caliper and a 21 inch over the fender left to right calipers. A 22 inch line over the fender would have been a more relaxed fit going through the factory hose clamps on top of the front fender.
I used straight banjos on the calipers and put a slight bend in them (about 15 degrees as suggested by Geof3) that worked great.
I ended up with a 35 degree banjo from the M/C that I bent to about 60 degrees. I will change this later as I am not completely happy with it. The line goes in from the bottom and I would like it to go in from the side but this will require a banjo with a different bend to it.

I used the OEM Triumph mirror mount bracket to secure the M/C to the bars and had to try a number of positions with my Rizoma reservoir to get it to work. A reservoir with a bottom outlet would work better and give a cleaner look.

Brakes are amazing!!!
I can set the lever to the #6 mark (gixxer levers have 6 settings) the closest to the bar and cannot squeeze the lever to the bar :-D

All I need now is a new pazzo lever and to get rid of the machined Tokico logo on my caliper so it is all black again..

Are you sure you needed to open up the caliper holes? I just took one of my stock tapered mounting bolts off and it is just about perfect fit in diameter to the K6 Gixxer caliper.

The bolt type I am talking about is the original on the first '05 bikes:

I think the factory costcutter team changed these to a cheaper black flanged ones at some point, so I have no idea if these are just the .0001 thicker or not.

If I recall correctly the black (06) brake caliper bolts are a non standard size, something like 10.6mm in the unthreaded part. A bit too thick to fit a stock 10mm hole.

If all you needed according to this forum, was the new coated pistons that Triumph is quitely installing on the new bikes, Why did you got the extent you did in replacing them with gxr parts? Or is that still cheaper? sean..
