Anyone ever do a valve adjustment by yourself?

I am thinking of opening her up and trying to do it. Never done a valve adjustment, what kind of tools do I need?

I got that triumph video thing, but i was wondering if anyone has ever posted a step by step photo tutorials on the board for this?

When do you know you need a valve adjustment job?

Shop manual for specs and procedure, shims of various sizes, and hex keys, sockets, etc to do the work. There is also a special tool used for the job. I've seen blueprints on t595.net if you've got a machinist who can make the tool for you. Otherwise, it is probably somewhere in the $50-150 range just for the tool.
