It's time to start thinking about putting her up for the big sleep, not actually doin it, just time to start thinking of the options. I personally dont have a heated space for the beast so i have arranged for winter storage in a heated, dry, garage of a local chopper dealership. I will remove the battery, of course, and put it on a trickle charger a couple times. Is there anything alse i should do ? Will sta-bil mess with the injectors come spring? I dont think i have to drain tha radiator. Any suggestions?

top off the tank with gas to keep the tank from corroding and get your tires off the ground to avoid flat spots.

Maybe a battery tender to keep the battery charged.

Got to the tech section and look around, there is a ton of advice there.

Oops! that's another bike site.

It's still August !!! Why are you thinking of all that time without your vitamine M
Time to move to the south so you can ride for 12 months out of the year.

You lucky bustards dont seem to understand that everybody is not living
in Florida... threre are countries like mine where we can ride only 6 months
in decent conditions...and bikes and gas cost twice as much as there ...so vinter storage is very familiar. Dont worry about the corrosion,
tank is made of plastic...and the positive thing is that the bike and riding feel totally
new after 6 months selibate...

Move to California..
Sometimes I wonder just what I'm doing here, you think it's getting cold already in Michigan try Switzerland. Since the end of July I've seen rain almost every day and the temp doesn't move above the teens (Celsius)..!! (In Fahrenheit I'm talking in the 50's), snow levels are dropping down to 1500meters (round 3000ft.) this week and the heater is already running in our building..!!!
It's times like this that I REALLY miss California..!!! Oh well, think I'll go out and milk the goats, make some cheese and do a little yodeling this afternoon..
