Hi all,
I have almost 2000 miles on my '06 S3. A simple question:

Engine is well warmed up - say you've just been riding for 20 minutes or so. Come to a stop, bike in neutral, engine idling. Clutch lever pulled in. You can hear the usual engine noise.

Now still in neutral, let the clutch lever out. My bike makes an additional noise (maybe bearing or gear whine). Its not really loud - it doesn't sound like a Ducati dry clutch. I don't know if its been getting louder or if I'm being paranoid.

is this normal ?

thanks,

Rich

Mine does it too, hot or cold. I have been told it's normal.

yep, i've got it too, it drives me bonkers, but it's nuthin bad, i generally don't leave my bike un neutral wit the clutch out unless i'm warming up on a cold morning, you probably want to have it in gear at the light...... i've been saved twice by not haveing to shift to get out of some aholes way (philly)

I was wondering about that myself, glad to hear it's normal.

Shoot, when you ride a "vintage" bike like my old Honda, it sounds like you're stirring a bucket of nails at the lights. Builds up your clutch hand muscles, though.
