Have any of you ever seen something similar to a "universal" disc type silencer/muffler clamped on a pre-05 style speed triple? What I am picturing is almost like the newer models with the Zard exhaust. It would be shorty style maybe slightly upswept. To the technical guys, does this even seem feasible with some fab work? As most of you know I don't even have a triple, but I hate the stock exhaust on the older models and just wonder if there are any homemade shorty styles out there. Anybody have pics?

Not a shorty but it works fine and is much lighter than stock.

Scroll down to 'JohnnySV'... This is one of my riding buddies. Its no S3 but a cool bike nonetheless. If you have any questions about fab/sourcing/pros/cons. I can redirect you to him.

Riding with this bike, it sounds awesome, loud but not deafening. Mine is loud too so when we both get on it sounds mighty impressive.

Phil M, thats the look. Does the supertrapp portion only have one hanger? Was it hard to get on or did the available adapter pieces from supertrapp bolt on? Is that a universal? That appears to be a cheaper alternative to some of the other options available.
