Specifically, those with an 02-04 Speed Triple with the Carbon-Fiber Factory TOR system:

Does the exhaust from your bike make the back of your clothing/jacket smell like exhaust? Does the exhaust turn your license plate brown?

I love my bike, but this is really bugging the ***** out of me. I have two nice leather jackets that I would rather not have to air out every time I go for a ride. I would like to be able to put saddlebags on the back knowing that everything won't stink after a long ride.

Can anyone help me out here? Is this common for the 02-04 models with high-mount exhausts? :???:

No problem with mine, I'd get that checked out.

My hi-mt is very close to my plate with no discoloration. (is that spelled right, spell check not working)

My '02 has been running very rich. My high-mount can discolors my rear-right turn signal, but not my license plate. And, no, even running rich my exhaust does not stink up my clothing while I'm riding. It might if I just sat idle on it for a while, but I don't let that happen.

Don't know if you'll be able to use saddlebags without installing a bracket to keep the bag up off the can with some heat shielding (the can gets hot and might melt or burn stuff).

Otherwise, I haven't had any stinky problems or discoloration with my high mount CF can.

If you go to the Triumph web site and look at luggage for the Triple, you'll see an 02-04 model with what looks to be a high-mount CF pipe.

The answer is simple=just go at least 100 mph everywhere you go and the stink cannot catch up with you. It works!
