Got my Rizoma stuff today. What size drill bit did you guys use to make the hole for the locating pin on the controls? What type of bar ends will work?

No body knows?

Oh well, I installed them last night and all went pretty well. I would suggest a new drill bit to make the locating holes for the controls! I went through a couple of bits to find one sharp enough to cut throug that thick aluminum. I think I'm going to use the CRG bar end adapters. They're supposed to work with pretty thick bars.

I think they look pretty trick. I went with the black risers and the blue bars. The color is very close to the paint on the bike! I'll post photos later.

TW,

I simply cut the locating posts off of the controls so I wouldn't have to mess with drilling the bars.

Renthall bar-ends come with 2 different size connectors, so they should fit. You could also buy the CRG ones if you're going to fit the CRG mirrors to them.

I second this one. It would be very hard to get the holes on the correct spot on the first go anyway. Plus Renthal specifically warns against drilling or denting the aluminium bars in any way as this will increase the chance of fatigue failure when the hole/dent acts as a starting point for the crack.

It was actually pretty easy to get the holes located in the right spot. PJ's actually suggested I could drill the holes, or cut off the locating pins. I always prefer to slightly alter an aftermaket part to make it work rather than alter a stock part to get it to fit.

Besides, these are Rizomas, not Renthal, FWIW.

Just stick a drill bit in the hole on the stock bars until you get the right size. :???:

Gotcha smart guy. I was asking before I tore the stock controls off so I could be prepared by making sure I had the right size bit. Since none of you scholars volunteered the info, I took them apart and checked the stock hole size with a bit.
