I purchased 2006 triple 4 days ago. I am a former cruiser rider and am having trouble getting used to the riding position. I am 41years 6'1" 230lb may be part of the problem. Has any one moved handle bars up and back and pegs down and forward and this seat keeps my manhood up against the tank does the Corbin or Sargent help the problem. These factory mufflers have to go, any replacement recommendation loud and low. I am not complaining I love this bike!

Welcome. I think you might find Renthol have what you are looking for. Various bars and rear sets. prob some other sites too, take a look at the Aftermarket Goodies thread at the top of the page. No doubt you will get lots of opinions on the subject. Come on own up, what cruiser did ya have? :-D

i would look into Renthal as well but be ware too much of a difference is going to result in more work than just the bars (new lines e/t/c)

not 100% sure about Corbin but Sargent will take your complaints about your seat and custom work the foam to help releive the problem

hey vendman,

Welcome to the asylum.

I am about the same size as you and I came from a sportsbike, so I had to get used to the changed riding position also.

I would not rush into any changes.....give yourself some time to adjust. It did not take long for me. I find it the most comfortable bike I have ever owned. The seat has moulded to my shape and I am no longer crushing the wedding tackle against the tank.

As for pipes, it is my opinion that all the aftermarket pipes sound very similar. The thing is they all sound great, so it is a matter of finding one that suits your budget and appeals to your sense of style.

Have a look at this thread: Aftermarket Exhaust Summary

Do a search for Zard, and you see something a bit different. There are plenty of different systems out there.

Goof Luck

Welcome... There are lot's of handlebar options as Leg mentioned. But I agree to give it some more time and see if you adjust.

There aren't any rearsets that I know of that will place your feet in a more foward and down position. Most are at least as "aggresive" as the stock ones and adjust more up and back...

The Corbin seat will seat you better in the saddle. No doubt about that... The stocker will have the tendency to wrack the jewels... I'm very pleased with my Corbin seat.

Also, put a 44t rear sprocket on... It becomes a TOTALLY different bike...

SW Motech makes a 1 inch handle bar risers... put them on and it made a world of difference... I can actually ride and not have to ice my wrists afterwords. You can order them from twistedthrottle.com. It will pop your brake lines out of the little plastic holder on the fender but there is still plenty of room for turning with no stretching of the lines.

Sargent seat... suck it up and pay the money... trust me... it's worth it.

Also you could order the Renthal 754 bars... 1 inch taller and 1 inch pull back closer to the rider than the stock bars. These are the ones I will probably go with this winter.

6'2" 220lb

I came from a Harley Wide-Glide 4 months ago... I fell your pain... Well I used too..
