Anyone in here running the R&G frame sliders? I'm thinking about picking up both the engine & rad sliders... It is pricey though! At least $180 for both sets. Anyone using them or better yet... "used" them?

I had the unfortunated experience of putting those R&G sliders into use. Happily they worked perfectly and the areas that they could cover were fully protected from damage. Spend the loot, they are well designed and very robust.

In your opinion how do you think they compare to the Skyking sliders? Sorry to hear about your "real world experience"

I think the skykings will work just fine, they are arranged in a simmilar simple fashion just like the R&G; replace engine mount bolt with bold supplied, add aluminum sleeve then delrin crash bung, add supplied locking bolt to fasten everything then tada, ur done. It's all very straight forward.

The only thing I couldnt resolve in my mind was why the Skyking front sliders were so long, it's as if they were made primarily for the Sprint and Daytona 955 (faring) and because the bikes use the same frame (daytona) just go ahead and offer it as a solution for the Speed Triple, they just looked so long.

I dont offer this as a criticism of the Skykings because they have been around and in wide use for quite some time on this bike and seem to be a mainstay. I just find the length of the R&G's more visually appropriate and as my "test" proves it is plenty long enough to offer protection where it can. I also went with R&G axle sliders and fork sliders. I really am very pleased them but again if you wish to go the Skyking route I see no fault whatever in that, with similar assembly and material it should certainly offer similar protection.

I've got GSG Moto's on mine. Why?
Well primarilly is because they are available locally and RG's are not.
Secondly I think the RG's stick out too much and can act as a lever when the unthinkable happens and can possibly snap off an engine mount or lug.
Thirdly if I do eff up the crash protector I could order whatever part gets polished without having to buy a whole new set.

BTW I am totally against metal protectors as these will permit the bike to skid along. Nylon protectors should act as a cushion if the bike tips over and offer better friction slowing the bike faster than metal ones would.

My 2d worth.
