bought my 99 S3 in january this year after almost 5 years of wishing and waiting to have enough money. its the 'ONLY' bike I have wanted since I first saw it in 2000. couldnt stop staring at it for the first month. my lunch breaks were spent in the car lot looking at it from different angles. its always parked outside my bedroom window (security reasons ... nothing wierd  )

no offence to other S3 owners but I think the first dual light version is the best looking and curvacious of all the models. the new one is good everywhere but the stumpy seat puts me off. hope the next model has a proper one.

some problems till now:

cluthc cable broke in the middle of a roundabout, one of the scariest moment ever on a bike. have no faith in the clutch cables anymore. always worried it might break anytime which isnt good. will try and find a fix for it.

loose connection prevented the bike from starting few months back. took the mechanic 4 hours to find it and cost me $350 AUD in labour.

brake lever goes soft every 3000 kms (about 2000 miles for you yanks and poms , about imt eyou guys took up the metric system  . 200 km/h sound so much faster than 120 mph). have to invest in a vacuum pump so i can bleed them myself.

other than that all been fun..lots of it. the sound gives me goosebumps...in 2nd gear around 7000rpm. love the tail section especially with the seat cowl.... single sided swingarm and the raised pipe showing off the black 3 spoke wheel. the twin lights look like they are saying "what the F*** you looking at?" best of all its not like an R1....everyone doesnt have one. . my friends didnt know what all the fuss was about untill they tested it.... both said the samething " fat powere everywhere all the way to the redline. and tips in beautifully"

could carry on but thats enough for now..... Hi to everyone here.

PS: i am a cheap bastard too.... where can i download a free shop manual?? triumphs are not cheap to maintain downunder here you know.

Welcome batistuta to forum.
As you can see I'm from the same corner of the world. There are a few of us on here from Melbourne. I live near the Yarra Valley, so if you want an excuse for a blast through some of the best bike roads in Vic let me know. I'm sure I could get a few of us together for a good day out. :-D

Hi Batistuta, I'm new to the forum to. Love reading unbiased opinions of after market goodies, seeing what does and doesn't cut it. I've wanted a s3 every new model that came out and finally took the plunge on the '05 model and absolutley love it, something about having the front wheel skip along the road in second really gets the blood pumping.

Prime Minister Bucket sounds better. Athough its a tough one...... the job of a PM. lots of cleaning up to do Mr.Bucket.

can I apply for the job of Sate Executioner. A few cage drivers that need to be taken care of. AND most importantly I would like to retire early with a big freaking retirement package...THANK YOU very much

PS: will rip the wire barriers off that are currently being contructed aorund our roads and hang a few ministers with them. those wires are better for decapitating than saving lives.
