Hi all - I'm new to the forum, and considering purchasing a 1995 triple with almost 30k on the clock.

Price is around $2500 or so.

I don't have the luxury of looking at the bike first-hand, so a test ride is out of the question. It has all service records, which seem to show it's had regular maint.

Any input/tips/advice appreciated!

Great bikes, sound awesome the original speed triple!

You need to be a tough guy to ride one tho!

These machines are not for the faint hearted, very heavy built, but thats all part of the old style original character,

go for it, you will never regret it and its always a nice memory looking back, never wish i sold mine!!!!!!!

I have a friend with a '95 and 80k+ on the clock - rattles a bit but still goes like it did with 8k on the clock. All I can add is that I know that if you test rode it you would buy it with out even thinking. I went to buy a new Kwak Z1000 couldnt get a test ride because the bike was already out so rather than waste the journey took the demo S3 out came back after 10 miles and bought one - black of course.

They're fantastic bikes. I've got a '96 model. Reliability and build quality is good but they are a little heavy, although the weight is not a problem once you're moving. I can't advise you on the price as I'm from England but if it's a goodun - buy it!

I've got a 95 model. Had it since last May and I love it. Will keep up with the big boys till about 90 mph. Get a Lucifer Orange one if you can, they are quicker ;-)

Out of all the bikes I've had, my '94 model is the absolute dogs B***£$@s.

sounds great, fantastic engine, a real head turner and to date been very reliable, what more could you want??

(maybe a 6th gear, but thats coming in august)

if it's good buy it, you'll never regret it. :-D

It's a nice and reliable bike. The thing is that you must be 100% that this is what you need.

It's heavy and hard to maneuver at low speed
Not the fastest naked bike you can buy in year 2000
It will probably need work (and money) at the suspentions to make it follow sportbikes at tight roads.

It has a very special character and look
The engine is very reliable, really hard to make it break, unless the previous owner didn't watch it at all.
It goes really fast when you find out how it works (twist roads)

...and you are finding at a very nice money.
If you are sure that this is what you will need and you don't have 'supersport worries' go for it.
