for showing me the light. riding this beast at 3000rpm+ really unleashes the true growl...i love it. all of my riding today, which mind you has been almost 50 miles, consisted of constantly keeping the engine at 3000rpm+ with the exception of stoplights. instead of 6th gear in the city, i have been cruising in mainly 4th. cranking the throttle at 3000rpm knocks your head back. this is just too cool. i fear i will get addicted and won't be able to stop doing it. i just did an hour and a half cruise session here in the city. i rarely ever do that just because city riding isn't very exciting...but it is now.

my biggest concern is whether or not i have caused harm to my speedy by riding it in the mid to upper 2000rpm range for the past 5000 miles. i hope not. i love this bike too much. i broke it in like a new born kitten...maybe i was too gentle with it. i probably need to replace the plugs as the engine does want to die if wacking the throttle with the clutch disengaged. fouled plugs from what all of you have said i assume.

i almost want to say this thing feels like it has gotten progressively faster each time i have ripped it thru 2nd gear almost to redline. i've done it about 4-5 times now. this last time i did it which was about 20 minutes ago, i had to let off the throttle slightly just because i thought the bike was about lift off like a jet.

who wants a :-g

;-)

Yeah, the 1050 is crazy @ 3100 rpm. Wait until 3200 rpm - it'll be a party.

this is not the tekmoe we know? tekmoe, you drunk and riding yet again?!?!?!? hahaha. heck, next you'll loose the camel back full of adult beverages that u normally ride with! crazy!

i think we told you you were crazy months ago. finally you agree. admitting your problem is the first step to overcoming it...alcoholism and low rpm's! it's nice to see you've come over to the dark side.

tear the streets up with that bike...like it was meant to be.

keep us posted on those plugs when u change um.

Yeah Tek - Welcome to the S3 addiction. Might not have to go replacing things just yet. This bike loves revs. Go bang it off the limiter a few times and clean out those engine deposits. She'll run smoother and cooler, as you are beginning to discover for your self.

Be Safe - Prob. don't recommend the Jet Take-Offs.

Plugs can't foul at less than 5k.

Oh sure they can... Several have had them go south...

Generally, no... not from simple carbon build up, but for some reason, the 1050 has had some issues with this... I just replaced my plugs at 7k and they looked a tad nasty, but then I've been doing some tuning etc... I hardly ever have the bike at less than 3500rpms...

probly not...it might have caused a not-great piston seal, but that just affects peak engine performance more than any damage to your bike.
