I asked the mechanic about the footpeg. He said it's aluminum so no can weld.
Yes, the foot-pegs are aluminum, but that's no reason why they can't be welded. Aluminum welds quite nicely with the proper equipment and expertise. I recommend TIG welding, or Heliarc.

I think you're better off replacing the foot-peg unless you have a friend/coworker/yourself that could do the work. It will look nicer and be no more expensive.

OK. I got the estimate. The radiator is broken like I thought.

Radiator
Blinker
(radiator cover)
Engine cover
Rear brake lever
Rear footpeg
Some part on the front end
+ work

=2333euros

That's of course if I put it on the insurance. A lot of that is only minor scratches and stuff I won't repair if I pay it myself.

Only parts that really need to be replaced is the radiator, the rear brake lever and the blinker. But the cost of these comes so close to the insurance costs that I think it's better to have it all fixed on the insurance.

Too bad it takes about 2 weeks to get all the parts, so I'm facing about 3 weeks brake from riding, which is a b*tch at this time of the season.

that sounds like a lot, but i have no clue how much a new radiator costs???

in US dollars...

you could buy after market turn signals for $30. the rear brake lever is like $100 and change. engine covers as mentioned can probably be fixed by yourself for under $10. not sure what happened to your peg but you can also get some new ones for $50-60 for some oberon's. if your rad cover is messed up you can buy carbon ones for $85 or some anodized ones for $100 and change.

what part on the front end???

what's your insurance deductible? gotta factor in how much you pay out of pocket and how much your premium goes up. also if you can get a bunch of cooler aftermarket parts for similar price this would be ideal time to upgrade.

I'll leave the front brake lever as it is, because I'll propably get some Pazzos at some point. The engine cover I leave be or paint it myself.
Be careful. The bend likely hurt the integrity of the lever. Don't be surprised when it completely breaks in half under hard braking.

The new radiator costs 624euros which is around 700USD.

I think the damaged part on the front end was that part where the wheel is mounted on the right side. I didn't even notice that so it's propably just a small scratch.

If I put the repair on the insurance, my 60% bonus will go down to 40%. If there's no insurance claims the bonus will go up to 70% next year, I think.

bonus? are you speaking finish dude? what's a bonus?

so if it's $700 US your looking at like $1k USD to do it yourself and get some custom parts. don't u have to pay a deductible? mine is $500. factor that in along with the "bonus" (???) and see if it's worth it?
