Anybody messed with the timing trim with their Tuneboy? Good or bad experiences? I'm going to give it a shot, start out with a couple of degrees on the top end. I'm a little reluctant because of the inability to detect detonation at high rpm's and load.

Drop an email to Wayne at tuneboy and tell him what you intend doing. He's sure to help you out.

Use higher octane fuel like 93 or better if you're going to push your luck. I haven't messed with timing yet, but I've heard there are definite trade-offs depending on whether your advance or retard. I know one gave more low-end grunt but lost top end and the other did the opposite. Going much past 4 or 5 degrees was a bad thing.

Look on T595.net for past posts. They had some fairly detailed discussions on it.

Wayne from tuneboy, gave me an 1050 speedy map, that has a few degress of timing built in at the top end of it. Its called 20102dynotune.

Seems to make my bike run better.....but my hard starting issue is still there. And my closed throttle misfire.

Wayne told me the 05-06 speedys respond very well to a little timing advance on the top end.

Ya, the speedy is detuned a bit advance-wise on the top for some reason. There are a couple of maps Wayne has, that are not on the site. I have no issue with the timing, but I still want to play with the dreaded 3-4k zone. My bike is MUCH better since I installed the non-SAI map and blocked off my SAI (running zard full system) but it could be better. Looking at the AFR targets, I'm not sure where to go with it though. I've considered hooking it all up and doing some real world data logging to have a look at the 3-d map and look for dips, but I'm waiting for my 44t sprocket to show up then go from there...
