Just had the S3's suspension set by the experts. They said the whole set up was out of wack. Not sure exactly what they have done but the the one thing that stands out is they have jacked up the back to put more weight on the front end. The bike no longer flaps the bars [so far anyway] coming out of bends or on bumpy roads. I am now riding over bumps rather than crashing in to them and the bike tracks better in corners.
All in all the best £40 i have spent on it so far!!

I'm pretty sure that any settings you could post re suspension would be greatly appreciated.

Any chance you might be able to tell us how they "jacked up the rear"? Did they insert a shim at the shock mounting point? If so, what thickness?

Since the mounting bolts for the rear shock are horizontal, a shim wouldn't work. Since the setup was £40, I assume the shop jacked up the rear by increasing the rear pre-load (and didn't actually increase the effective length of the shock).

Incidentally, I'm a big advocate for doing just that. As delivered, my bike had far too much rear sag (and not enough front sag). I set the rear (rider) sag at 28 mm and the front at 35 and it now handles much better.

As Curmudgeon said they jacked up the back end with more pre-load. Also increased the front sag. Both compression and rebound were wound right down on the front so this was altered also. The bike now "compresses" the same at both the front and the rear instead of wallowing.
It feels much stiffer but more compliant at the same time.
If that makes sense!
Another good thing from these guys is, if i want it tweaking all i have to do is pop round and they will sort it!

The work was done by KAIS. They work on all sorts of bikes. They are based in Atherton just outside Manchester.
Its a ride in ride out service. Takes about 1 hour.
Really nice people to deal with. call them on 01942 896366
