I rode around pretty hard during lunch, about 2 hours ago. I went out for a smoke to make sure that the kick stand wasnt sinking in the pavement and I saw a quarter sized spot of oil under the bike, directly below one of the breather tubes...but no oil on the breather hose? Any thoughts..bike only has like 2500miles

Mine does the same thing. I took a good look to see that nothing was actually leaking and now I don't pay attention to it anymore. A quarter sized spot is only one or two drops worth.

Cool..my 99' used to drop a bit from the shifter lever. I was told by old Triumph guys that you had to worry when it STOPPED leaking :-D I just figured I get a few more miles before its started on the 06' though..

Yeah. I've never done vintage bikes, but I have a '74 MGB and a '70 VW Bug that I use the old if it ain't leakin' it ain't full philosophy on.

I'm just glad it has a real breather. My Aprilia had a "spooge tube" that was meant to collect all that junk and if you let it overfill, the remainder ran off into one of the throttle bodies.

Nothing like my old '69 Bonnie. It would leak a quart a week.
