hmmm...***!

i was coming home from work today and i was in 6th gear doing about 2200rpm. i gave it full throttle to pass a car and the bike started chokin!!! like p-p-p-p-p-ppp-p-pp-vrrrrrrooooom! after it gets to about 2600rpm, it runs like the beast it should.

dammit. i hope theres not something wrong with it. i did adjust the throttle cable about a week ago. can't remember the last time i gave it full throttle in any gear that low of an rpm. i tried it in 4th and 5th and it did the same thing before i got home.

i will adjust the throttle cable back to what i had it at. i only adjusted it because i figured after 4500 miles, it probably had some slack in it.

if you adjust the throttle cable too much, is this symptom common? i hope so. =/

lol thats what my dad said. he's like "that's too slow. go faster."

hmm, thing is, it's never done it before. i've pulled from 2000 just to see how fast i could get to 60. it's never once coughed or choked until today.

and it's also doing the same thing in 4th and 5th.

Dude, you're lugging it (which is bad for the engine); you shouldn't use full throttle in sixth gear at 2,200 rpm. I can almost hear your engine groaning in protest.

I know you never wind it up; that's one likely explanation for the stumble. In particular, when you never rev the engine hard, carbon tends to build up in your combustion chambers, which causes the engine to run poorly. To see if this is the problem, take it to a quiet stretch of freeway, put it in second or third gear at 3,500, hold on tight, wind the throttle full on, and keep it there until you get near redline. Do that a few times. If my carbon build up theory is right, you'll likely see some black/grey smoke in your wake (particularly after the first run) and your bike will run better afterwards.
