Like I said, I was out on my lunch break and noticed at three different gas stations that they no longer had premium fuel available there! Thats all I put in my bike. I knew there was a BP pipeline that broke in Alaska, I was ready for an increase in price.... But to stop selling 93 octane? ***?

I've noticed this recently as well. Several stations in my area have started selling E-85 fuel and removed the premium at the same time. I'm all for E-85 if you can use it, but most of us still can't.

Tricks: 93 octane is around $3.12/gallon in my neck o' the woods.

Other Motorcycle: 97 Bandit 600. Sold & missed.
95 Oct ~= 1.3€ here in Portugal (last I remember... I avoid looking at the price on account of not wanting wallet to have an heart attack!)

For those in the US (like me) who are complaining about fuel prices Tricks is paying an equivalent of $7.22 USD a gallon.

Tricks I think this works out to about £0.42 a litre

My math skills and conversions of currency and measurements might be off but I know I talked to a business associate earlier this week who was in northern England and he said the fuel cost was about $8.00 USD a gallon over there :wow:

Your 97 octane is the Research Octane number (RON). It is not comparable to octane ratings in the United States. The American standard is Pump Octane Number (PON), which is the average of the RON and the Motor Octane Number (MON). This site explains this stuff and shows that your 97 is roughly equivalent to our 93 octane gas.

Yes, 89 PON or 93 RON.

I noticed that the manual said 89 octane was sufficient. Does 92 (highest I can get here) work better?
