The first couple of times I started my 05 S3 after installing the PC all was good. Now, when I start her from cold the idle is realy lumpy, if you give it a little rev a bit of soot comes out of the pipes. When it warms up the idle is smooth as it should be.

Any suggestions or ideas? Too rich at start up maybe? I haven't changed the air filter from stock, if this makes any difference.

What pipes do you have on it, and what map do you have installed?

I have the standard Triumph map in the ecu, not sure which version. The bike has Arrow cans and I have the Arrow map off the Power Commander website that I loaded. The ends of the cans are getting a bit sooty, so maybe its too rich.

It seems to run great when its warmed up, but has just the slightest stumble off idle, very subtle though.

So are you saying that you're not sure whether it's the stock ecu, or it has one of the TORS re-flashes in it?

Also, have you connected to your PCIII and do a "get map" to verify that the map is in there correctly?

By standard Triumph map I meant a non-TORS map. Before installing the PC I verified that the Arrow map was correctly loaded.

How long have you had this on and running? And you say that it ran fine at first?

If it were mine, here's what I'd do first:

1. Plug a laptop into the PCIII and verify that the map is in there. Once I verified this, I would also compare the map that is in there to the one on Dynojet's website.

2. I'd check all connections to make sure everything's tight.

3. If 1 and 2 are good, I'd also start checking other connections and hoses to make sure all is good.

4. I'd install a zero map, and a map for stock exhaust (513-001b) and compare it to how it runs with your current map. If it runs better with either zero or 001b, then you'll need to tweak the Arrow map a bit on the low end. I could help you with this if necessary.

Oh, and also verify that your O2 controller is connected tight.

I just looked at the Arrow map, and it is really rich! I compared it to mine and was really surprised how fat yours is. Try to put the stumble in terms of percentage of throttle, and rpm.

I remember someone else here saying how rich the Arrow map was. What map are you running? It seems to me a slip on is pretty much a slip on and the maps should all be similar.

I installed the PC last week and the first few times it started and idled fine. It idles fine now when warm, but when cold it is lumpy.

It feels a little sluggish just off idle, like 5% throttle, 1300 rpms.

Your map is a whole lot more rich than mine at around 1250rpm, 2 and 5% throttle!

If you like how yours runs everywhere else, we could always tweak it down low and run with it. If you wanted to try mine, that's fine too.

Different pipes however will require considerably different mapping. We've tested small changes (slight bend in a pipe), and found it to go a couple of hp one way or the other.

This is all making a bit more sense now. When I installed the PC the bike didn't feel as powerful off idle, it seems a bit thick in the midrange too. I know all systems are a bit different, but I also think these maps are developed by a tuning center when a bike comes in, then they send the map to PC to put on the website. I can't imagine PC gets every bike with every exhaust and develops a map just for it. So, having said that, all tuners are going to create maps a little differently, plus every bike is a bit different and also environmental conditions differ too.

Is the map for your Leo V's similar to mine everywhere but the range you mentioned or is my map richer across the board from yours? I can always load another map and see how she runs. That may be easier than trying to tweak my map. I think it idled fine in the beginning, but now may be fouling the plugs and that is why the idle is lumpy when cold.

Thanks for your help, maybe further correspondence should be through the private messages so we don't clog this space up.
