Howdy,Here are the steps as I remember them (obvious disclaimers apply)-

Remove equipment from the stock bar. Note/photograph layout, relative positioning, and cabling.

Use WD40 under the left grip to slowly work it loose.

Remove the stock handle bar.

Undo the outer pinch bolts on the triple clamp (near the forks).

Use a large socket (maybe 22mm?) for the steering column nut. Make sure to protect the top of the clamp from getting scatched by the socket.

Either drill a small hole in the clip-on bars to match the tab on the handlebar equipment housing (there is a small tab that keeps it from rotating on the bar) or grind the tab off (that's what I've always done and it doesn't really make any difference but ymmv).

Mount the gear on the new bars but keep it all somewhat loose- you'll need to move things around. A little hairspray in the grip will lube it enough to slip it back on and then dry like the glue it is (give it an hour or two to dry).

Mount the clip-ons on the top of the forks.

Put the triple clamp on and use a soft mallet to tap it down all the way. Make sure it's down all the way or the steering lock will not match it's hole in the steering column (test that you can turn the key and lock the steering).

Tighten the steering column nut before tightening the outer pinch bolts (important to keep from bending the triple clamp).

Start playing around with positioning and slowly work components and bars tighter until you get it all in place with the right torque values. This is the most difficult step. Make sure that the cables are routed well. By "well" I mean without tight bends or tension when steering is at lock in any direction. I think I re-routed the front brake cable.
Decide if you want to be able to go to full steering lock without touching the tank. Make sure you don't smack the display housing. Even after tightening everything, you may end up having to adjust a few times after driving. It's a little tedious.

Good luck!

Use a large socket (maybe 22mm? for the center nut. Make sure to protect the top of the clamp from getting scatched by the socket.
Either drill a small hole in the clip-on bars to match the tab on the handlebar equipment housing (there is a small tab that keeps it from rotating on the bar) or grind the tab off (that's what I did and it doesn't make any difference- I like to rotate the turn signal mount a little).
Mount the gear on the bars but keep it all loose.
Put the clip-ons on the top of the forks.
Put the triple clamp on and use a soft mallet to tap it down all the way. Make sure it's down far enough so that the steering lock will match it's hole in the steering column.
