So, the 10,000km (6000mi) service entails everything from the 800km (500mi) service---oil/filter, checking codes on the ECU, and tightening/adjusting all the bolts/brakes/chain/clutch PLUS checking the spark plugs, right? I imagine that checking the plugs will be an additional 1/2 hour labour so I'll likely be looking at $300 for the service.
Now, 100mi outside of Nelson BC (on my way to the Raid) I noticed a burning oil smell. The head gasket on the RHS front corner of the engine (right behind the oil cooler) was leaking (seeping) a bit. Over the course of the next 1500km I didn't lose any significant amount of oil but it needs to go in for warrantee work. I'm thinking that the amount of work to get to this gasket (removing the tank, cam cover/plugs and head) should help reduce my 10,000km service bill, right?
