No, it doesn't. However the 15 minute thing is a fact. Some people call it a "10 minute tune". (It really only takes 10 minutes if your bike is up to operating temperature) What this does is force it to clear all it's data and re-adjust itself to the ambient temperature/pressure. Your dealer can do this with their FI diagnostic equipment with the push of a button.
Be sure not to touch the throttle during that time. Just let it idle. The computer is looking for Throttle Position Sensor data.
This usually is the first thing to try if your bike isn't running quite right. Easy and cheap!
