I have never had problems with my speed triple. But today I get it out of the garage, start her up and she cranks, but does not fire right away. The only way I can start her is if I hit the button and give it some gas. But even then, it seems as if its goign to die, if I let go of the throttle it dies.
It just dies when it's idling, even when it warmed up. Totally new for this bike.
I recently installed a high mount carbon fiber(triumph high can i think) and the bike has been back firing quite a bit. Could this be the cause of the bad idling and dying.

sounds like you're sucking air somewhere. check all the hoses, and clapms, and especially look where you were working with exhaust. I worked on cars for years, problems like that always turned out to be my fault.

It's happened to me too.
When I ran the WileyCo pipe, it was loud as hell, popped and crackled and ran a wee bit too rich. After about 3,000 miles, the plugs were just too fouled up to let it idle right. If I left it more than a week, it was as hard to start as you mentioned. Went back to the standard map and pipe and have now had the same plugs in for 30,000 miles, and the start and idle has not changed a bit.
Sometimes the TOR map is just too rich, unless you crank it on all the time, being in traffic may foul plugs too quickly.
Good luck sorting it.
Mick

roadkill, I've always changed the pipe's on all my Trumpy's and not had a problem, I haven't even had them remapped. T509 had 2 Bro's, 02 had a Scorpion, Mille had a Neptune, S4 Micron, Not that that is any help to you. Just wondering if it's anything else?? :???:

You know, Ive installed 3 exhausts on my bike, and it has been fine. But this one is a high mount, so it might have done stuff.
Almost as soon as I put the pipe, it started to backfire.
Ive also changed exhausts on my other bikes and they were fine too.
This is my first FI bike, so im not really sure if its just that.

Roadkill, it takes no more than 10 mins to change a map....the dealer plugs in his gameboy, hits a couple of keys and away you go. If you bought the pipes from the dealer he may do it for free. If not, he will charge you a figure that he pulls out of his arse, I've heard prices from $20 to $80. I think $20 is reasonable.

Took my bike to the dealer, and they told me i need to leave it there for 2 weeks before they can get to my bike. How lame is that. If its 10 minutes work why not just do it.
Anyway, i brought the bike back. Will riding like this damage my bike? She seems to be riding fine except at idle, i just have to give her a little gas and keep the revs above 1k
Where is the idle adjustment screw on a 00 triple?
