I haven't posted on the board that much, but i fell in love with my triple 10 weeks ago when I bought it and haven't had time to be on the computer....I've put nearly 5K on the clock in a little over two months

Needless to say, I haven't had an incident. Until yesterday.
My roommate was looking into buying a used 60's or 70's era bike for the two of us to turn into a serious overhaul project. He asked me to come test ride a bike in brooklyn and I agreed against my better judgement.

Long story short: Front and rear brakes gave out right before corner entry at about 30+ mph (note: I had been taking it easy and asked the owner for any problems I should know about).....Sketchy pavement; my choices were to drop the bike and chance sliding into oncoming traffic or take the bike
onto the curb. The motorcycle hit a brick wall: totaled. Me: broken ankle, sprained knee and hip, and one seriously dented shin bone.
Definitely bummed out right now, will be on the DL for quite some time.

On the bright side my triple's ok, i'm alive, and i'll have alot more time to annoy cheap b.

I didn't want to start another post for this.....
I'll be working on my bike during my down time.
Does anyone have the new bonny fender elim. kit? If so, how is it?

Sh*t.. Bad karma around here.. It just makes us to realise that how vulnerable we actually are. Good to hear that you will recover and did a favour to a seller by totalling his bike..

Anyway, thank god you are alive.. Bones and bruises will heal.

Take care buddy!

good thing you are OK. and glad the s3 is OK too.

i give much respect to the people who can actually admit to having an accident. some people don't have the ballz as they feel like they will be shunned or something. i know when i had my accident on my buell, i was on the buell forum the next day posting about what happened. it feels good to see a bunch of people you don't really know showing you some sympathy and wishing you well. it really does feel good...

Man that sucks! I'm glad you are still around to post. Get well and like Limey said, kick that guy in the nuts.

You made the right choice, even if the wall did bite ya hard. Take it easy and the time'll fly.

Since you have some time, why not make your own fender eliminator? Bunch o' folks around here have done it and it makes a good project. And while you're sittin' there starin' at the bike, you'll come up with lots of other ideas.

Hang in there, man.

No doubt at all....I really appreciate all of the feedback........

I haven't been posting that much, but i have been checking in periodically. You guys are definitely the best group of bike owners I've come to know, and I haven't even met or ridden with a single person from the board yet.......

L4TUA....it's funny everyone in my crew rides monsters and triples...though none of them belong to this here....on Mon. when we met up to ride, I was telling them your story and basically preaching the "you never know what can happen" saga. Sure enough, I go down the very next day

R100.....Good point, I'm gonna have to look into fab-ing some of my own parts...Hopefully I'll be back on the road before the bad East Coast weather hits

It's funny.....the bike was such a piece of ****e that the forks snapped
off at maybe 15-20 mph.....

The owner took one look at my face and knew that I was ready to beat him silly while hopping on one leg....It's his responsibility now.
