I haven't seen anyone disscus this issue, I am getting tired of taking even a 5 minute blast coming home and smell like exhaust. if I ride for a few hours forget it I my girl can smell me as I walk through the dam door. do you think it's because of the stubby exhaust? this is pretty bad when thats pretty much all I have to complain about on this bike... other than that I blew past a ducati 749s 2005 (my buddy's bike) he was suprised..lol all he was thinking how much$$$ he put into that bike so far I think around 21,000k

I don't have this issue. Indeed, I haven't noticed much smell from the pipes. Perhaps yours isn't running right?

The smell is always there, if you are sensitive to it. I have had it on every bike I've owned (22 years).

I wear a light perforated jacket (Joe Rocket). Both for protection if I crash, and because it absorbs the smell and you can take it off when you get where you are going.

I have never crashed, so the jacket has been unused there, but it has saved me from many uncomfortable looks in the elevators when I get to work.

Yes, mine smells me up a little too! But hey, I'd rather smell like a triple than smell like tracker! :-D

I've noticed that the exhaust placement on the s3 does this as well. I now do 2 things to compensate:

1. If I'm strapping a backpack to the rear rack, it's now a backpack saved specifically for the S3. I don't want the others smelling like that.

2. I wear a textile jacket (not leather) on the S3. I can throw that in the wash every week or 2 and 'renew' it.

As for blowing past a two cyl. 748.. I wouldn't be surprised that 1000cc + 4 valve triple would have more torque and HP than a 4 (?) valve 750 cc twin ? so there's no surprise there ?
