We haven't had a chainlube thread for a long time.......

I've been using Belray Super Clean which is very good and as long as you clean the chain periodically and don't let old stuff build up on the chain it absolutely does not throw off.

However I don't like the white coating on the chain. Has any body got any recommendations for an alternative that goes on clear, and will not throw off.....What are you all using?

I use Maxima Chain wax. which just happened to be around as I use it on my dirt bikes. Doesn't fling around (at all), goes on almost clear. Smells AWESOME.

Using it I got three hard years out of my chain on my KTM 520 with almost no wear. The only reason I replaced it was because I got new gears.

My roommate used a different brand (can't remember exactly, something like PJ1?) and he replaced his chain because it was completely wore out (same time interval on a 250). If you held it out horizontally at chest level, it would touch the floor.

I'm never going to use anything else.

Maxima Chain wax here too. I use it to clean my chain.

When it goes on it's very fluid and dissolves the gunk on the chain. Just wipe the chain with a rag and all the gunk comes right off. Let it sit another ten minutes and it sets up and does not fling off unless you over lube the chain. Even then it's very minimal. I got 10k+ miles out of my last chain using this stuff. Wouldn't use anything else.

I'm another using Maxima Chain Wax. It's worked well for me on several bikes (street and dirt), and no funky color.

I've never used it to clean the chain like Thunderpunk...I'll have to give that a whirl, as the biggest challenge in my mind is getting the chain really clean before lubing it and sealing in that leftover grime.
