Ok my S3 really needs a better off the line launch. My stock
885 is not happy with the 18T and 43T sprockets BUT I don't
want to cause any wear or more wear to the chain/swingarm
guard.

I've seen some going to 17T fronts but has that caused quicker chain wear or to the guards ?

What would be the optimim set up ? I really don't care if I can
run 150, I just need a top end above my sons sv650 who really can leave the line fast. And my set up is like others have described, feels like leaving in 2nd gear .
