I removed a topic that contained a link to a full copy of the Triumph Speed Triple Manual.

The benefits of this information is understood, but nonetheless this type of act is spelled out as a prohibited activity in the TriumphRat.Net Acceptable Use Policy - a set of rules all of you agreed to upon registration to this site.

The AUP is linked from the bottom of any page on TriumphRat.Net for review.

Although we are a private community, respect for the intellectual property of others is something that the admin/moderator team takes very seriously both here and in our normal lives.

If Triumph Ltd were to come to me with written approval to post copies of manuals, I'd set it up as a direct download myself.

Until then, feedback on this topic is welcome, but keep it positive and constructive.

Regards,

If you are a premier member on T595, you can download manuals for various year S3's

No one has come to me yet and stated emphatically that posting electronic copies of Triumph's manuals is acceptable to Triumph Ltd.

As I understand it, distribution of any Triumph product is allowable only through authorized Triumph Dealers. In other words, posting an electronic copy can be perceived as taking money away from them. Manuals are an item number, that sell for a price.

So if Triumph Ltd, or some sort of Law Enforcement entity, demanded that I provide information - I would have no choice but to comply to the best of my ability. The same would be true if Triumph demanded that I shutdown the site.

I'm not trying to be difficult on this matter, but as stated - this is a serious matter with no room for alternative interpretation.

Your cooperation is appreciated.

Absolutely Shawn. You did the correct thing. I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.

Copyright law can come back and bite you in the wedding tackle. It's one thing to be a thief and accept the possible consequences of your actions, but another thing entirely to allow such unlawful action on your public property. Sure I think it's unlikely Triumph would ever do anything about it, but I think that's part of the point.

As much as people appreciated the item, I appreciate your integrity.

Besides, you can buy a printed version online for pretty cheap anyway.
