So as I've been accumulating the miles on my S3, I've noticed a peculiar behavior. It is most noticeable in 1st, but i think that can be attributed to the short ggearing/hegh acceleration. In any case, say I launch and hold the throttle at a constant (mostly wide open position). The RPMs and MPH climb at a steady rate until about 5800rpm...then they flatten out fiercely. Then, just past 7k, the kick in the pants comes, RPMs jump and the thing takes off like a rocket. It will scream that way until redline.
Now my analysis:
I first thought it was a timing retard similar to that employed by Suzuki on high HP bikes (since I noticed in mostly in first). But I've never heard or read anything that even suggests this.
I'm left with only 3 options.
1 - Fouled injector not delivering proper fuel at given position.
2 - TPS not set properly producing false flat spots.
3 - This is just an actual torque hole.
Any insight?
