Has anyone tried turning the little running lights in the headlight assemblies into the turnsignals? I wonder if they'd be visible over the headlight beams?

I was wondering the exact same thing. Maybe I'll try it this weekend, and see how it works.

It won't work very well with the lights on behind it. I was wanting to do this same thing this weekend so I tried it real quick when I was doing the tail tidy, fairing work, etc. The amber replacement bults from Napa are fairly bright, but not bright enough to safely overpower the light being on.

I want to redo it so that it does the following:

When the turn signal goes on to either the left or right, I want that headlight to go completely out for the duration of the signal. The signal would then blink while the light is out in only that headlight, while the opposite headlight would remain on. The opposite would happen when signaling the other way.

This would be a fun electronics project, and would probably involve a custom circuit of some kind (I'm not very good with electronics).

I really want to do this though and get rid of my front turn signals.

I don't think you have to have signals by law, but you would have to do the old "hand signal" thing.

Odium,
Interesting, I will try that as well, and maybe an actual electronic board that blinks the headlight unit itself for the turn signal.
Should be a cool project.
