have almost 3700 miles on my 06 s3. the front forks have recently started making a squeaking noise during compression. last night when i was out in the garage, i was bouncing the front end up and down and could hear a moderte squeaking noise coming from the front forks. is this normal?

also, either it's me or the bike, but it feels like something is loose on the front end. i ran over some city titties the other day at a fast paced speed and am wondering if it might have caused something to get loose. not sure what though. hmmm

Check your rotors and pads. Could just be brake noise from the pads grabbing the rotors. Compressed the pistons with a pair of plyers on the pads, then put the front tire up against a wall and bounce the suspension without using the front brake and see if it still squeeks. You'll need to pump up your brake lever after compressing the pistons to get your brakes back.

Keep us updated.

Probably brake line moving through one of the various mounts... no reason for the forks to squeak on compression, something metal is moving against metal. Or the T-line in the little plastic mounts on the front fender, could be the culprit...

If you are "bouncing" then it's probably your headlight assembly or instrument cluster....
